Trust House Charitable Foundation – The People You Can Trust
The Trust house Charitable Foundation was formed out of a trust operated by the Council of Forte plc which inherited investments in the Granada Group. The Foundation was registered with the Charity Commissioners in 1997. Its objects are such general charitable purposes as the Trustees in their discretion may from time to time determine. The Foundation currently distributes over £2 million each year. The average grant awarded by the Foundation is £5,000.
The objects of the trust house charitable foundation are such charitable purposes as the Trustees in their discretion from time to time determine. The Trustees have power to apply income and capital to fulfill their objects. The Trustees will consider applications from anywhere in the UK, especially those concerned with areas of deprivation. It is not necessary to be a registered charity in order to apply however applications will only be considered from not-for-profit organizations. The Trustees will also consider applications from charities based in the UK which undertake health care, health education and community projects; and projects supporting charitable work in developing countries. The Foundation currently spends around 10% of its grants budget on overseas projects.

Any charitable or cultural objects or purposes which promote, advance, or encourage education, science, literature, art, physical welfare, or recreation, or any other purposes that are beneficial to the community or any section of it. This shall include but not be limited to the provision or the assistance in the provision of facilities or playing or training uniforms, for amateur sporting clubs and amateur sporting teams playing in recognized, published amateur leagues or competition. Also grants for the relief of poverty or welfare assistance through donations to recognized social services or welfare agencies; grants to education training organizations for the provision of scholarships or equipment administered by the recipient educational organization; and finally grants for recognized cultural activities or groups.
The Trustees will consider applications in respect of physical and mental disability: projects involving rehabilitation, projects particularly for ex-service men and women; projects for children; and respite care; the provision of domiciliary care; support for volunteers and care takers; outreach services; the refurbishment of premises; the provision of equipment; support services for those suffering from chronic illness or terminal conditions; special equipment for the chronically or terminally ill at home. The trustees of the trust house charitable foundation also consider applications from the elderly, ex-offenders, young people, and the individuals who are actively involved in building the community. Apart from this list, arts and education are also considered as broad priorities of the trust house charitable foundation.
