Community Foundation Trust: - Community For Social Improvement
Community foundations are basically public charities created in communities around the world specifically to support community efforts and social improvement. Funds and any other assets are established by a variety of groups of people ranging from families and individual to businesses and non-profit groups. These funds or assets can be used for charitable purposes. It is usually the choice of the people or organizations that establish the funds how and when the assets will be invested, and the recommendation for grant distribution is also usually theirs as well. These funds can be distributed in the name of the community foundation or anonymously and are granted to non profit groups or other community projects like schools and libraries.
Community foundations often work closely with charitable organizations and charitable trusts for a common purpose within the community. Community foundation trusts are growing worldwide to step in pace with the needs in each community and are gaining more volunteers and donors as they grow, which results in bigger founds and grants offered. Community foundations are an important way for people to be involved in their communities and create a generous environment that benefits everyone in the community. As more projects are created and concluded, people gain a better view and trust of charitable foundations and contribute more which in turn allows for the creation of other projects.

Part of community foundations, giving circles are growing in popularity around the world contributing not only to improvement in their communities but also to an awareness and participation in the process of giving. Participants pool funds and other resources to donate to their communities or other communities in need. Often volunteer time and specific knowledge is offered as well, making these projects an important basis in many communities. Legal counselling, teaching skills, free advertisement are just some of the possibilities explored in giving circles that are contributing more and more to community growth and awareness.
Some studies suggest that giving circles and community foundations are contributing very positively not only in their own communities but in other communities as well that often follow the example and start their own community foundations and giving circles enriching more communities and people's lives. Participation is thought to increase new levels of giving which in turn brings new money and other assets to the non-profit small groups in each community. Although there are many positive results from these efforts made by community foundations some people find it important to realise that these positive results can encourage the government to rely more and more in charitable organizations and community foundation trusts to provide services and improvements that are traditionally provided by the government itself. Some of these people argue that although the results are positive in the short term, they might impact negatively in the communities and even the countries if the government fails to provide those services and improvements based on the fact that they're being provided with success by the charitable organizations and community foundations.
