Community Charitable Trust

Community charitable trust is an independent grant-making organization supporting the work of not-for-profit groups by helping to reduce poverty and disadvantage, protect the environment, preserve our heritage, support art and culture, encourage sport, boost recreation and improve educational outcomes. The Trust makes grants in the education, arts, sport, recreation, environment, heritage, health and social services areas. Any incorporated or charitable trust can apply for funds, provided they are a not-for-profit organization that has been operating for more than 12 months. The Trust will contribute to the enhancement of equity and the enrichment of society by supporting groups and proposals that work with or for the diverse peoples of our region to address social issues, meet educational and community needs, improve equity between groups and reduce poverty through innovative educational, social and economic programs. In addition, will enable citizens to become actively involved in society by participating in community activities, the arts and culture, and sport and recreation and improve the quality of the physical environment.

Strategies include investing in skilled and qualified staff and adopting best practice, consulting and working with organizations ensuring the Trust's programs and policies are accessible and appropriate for these communities, working with local, regional and central government agencies to achieve funding agreements, working with other fund raisers on projects of mutual interest, supporting initiatives that strengthen the voluntary philanthropic sectors, reviewing current funding policies and developing new policies that are responsive and flexible, consulting and working with ethnic communities and with refugee communities and agencies, seeking to be proactive and identifying areas where the Trust can take a leading role to achieve positive social outcomes, using the tools of economic and social analysis to inform our policy development. Also, responding to and listening to the community, surveying recipients of their funding, evaluating the effectiveness of our allocations and feeding this information back to our decision-making and service delivery processes and Investigating whether there is a role for the Trust to fund innovative projects with other community trusts.

Community Charitable Trust

Investigating the role of the Trust in funding research, and developing and implementing sector strategies for six sectors like Education, Health and Social Services, Sport and Recreation, Arts and Culture, Environment and Heritage Community Economic Development What motivates the community charitable trust is to demonstrate leadership by advancing universal principles and responsible corporate citizenship to make the global economy more sustainable and inclusive. The Trust has an objective of conducting its investment activities in an ethical manner which avoids prejudice as a responsible member of the world community.

The charitable community has its own unique principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. The charitable community believes that businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining that businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges and those businesses should work against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.
