Charitable Giving, Make A Difference Today, Feel The Satisfaction Of It.
The practice of benevolent giving has always been a tradition for as long as one can remember. The charity sector is fast growing as the government in the respective areas ceases to fulfill certain social responsibilities. Charitable giving applies for all those who are in a position to donate; big or small, help is never measured by the amount, but by the heart. Lending a helping hand to people in need always comes around. The people you help today will come around to helping you or your beloved ones at some point of life. Life has a funny way of showing us different colors of life. Some days are blessed, and some days are not.
Charitable organizations are not-for-profit organizations constructing people's lives in all ways possible. Such organizations require help from mankind to keep going, and make a difference in people's lives. Strangely, such act of giving not only changes the lives of the people in need, but it also has a huge impact on the donors. A sense of relief that you have also made a difference in this world, a sense of satisfaction that you do not get anywhere else, you are bound to feel when an act of charitable giving is performed. Charitable giving has its different forms. Service, cash and property are just to name a few. Such acts of charitable giving also have their own benefits for the donor. Tax deduction is something to look forward to. If the donor is contributing cash to the charity, the general rule is that there is only one limitation on the total amount that the donor is entitled to deduct: The donor may only deduct his/her contribution to the extent that it does not exceed 50% of his/her adjusted gross income.

If the donor is contributing his/her services to a charity, he/she is not entitled to a deduction for those services. He/She is however, entitled to deduct his/her un-reimbursed expenses that he/she incurred in rendering them. If the donor is contributing appreciated property, he/she is entitled to deduct the value of that property on his/her tax return for that year. Neither he/she nor the organization that received property as charity will pay tax on the appreciation in the property.
Such technicalities aside, the bottom line is what comes from the heart. Charitable giving will help you rest at your mind at peace to know that you have helped someone see the bright sun, or help a child get his/her education, or let an elderly person go to sleep warm in their bed. Such an act will help you look back at the guy in the mirror and tell yourself, today you have made a difference in someone's life, today is a beginning. Charitable giving will make a person brighter and positive from the inside. This kind of self-healing is a much required thing to succeed in today's brutal world. Give, lend, help, make this world a better place for our children to live by tomorrow.
